QCB Trainees also have access to numerous career development activities including the IU Chemistry Career Development Symposium (CDS) which provides opportunities for trainees to meet professionals in the fields of patent law the pharmaceutical industry, the chemical industry, as well as academic scientists from small colleges in R1 institutions. The CDS is organized by the Chemistry Graduate Representative Committee (ChemGRC).
The Preparing Future Faculty Conference is designed to offer graduate students from various disciplines and stages of their academic journeys essential insights into career preparation. The event features panelists who are professors from Indiana University Bloomington and nearby institutions, with a particular emphasis on including panelists from a wide range of fields and backgrounds.The Velocity Conference is also an annual event to enhance graduate students’ biology backgrounds with business and entrepreneurial skills.
